My story
I've always been fascinated by how things work. That curiosity started with older GM cars, but it quickly grew into something much bigger. Every project became an opportunity to learn a new skill, master a new tool, or understand a problem from a different perspective. Fabrication, machining, welding, CAD, reverse engineering, and product design weren't destinations—they were simply the next steps in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
Studying Mechanical Engineering gave me the technical foundation to support that curiosity, but the classroom was only the beginning. The workshop has always been where ideas are tested, mistakes become lessons, and experience is earned one project at a time.
That philosophy is what Carter Engineering & Fabrication was built on.
I believe good work starts with understanding the problem before reaching for a solution. It means being honest about what will work, paying attention to details that most people will never notice, and building every project as if my name will always be attached to it—because it is.
Whether I'm restoring a classic car, machining a custom component, designing a product, or helping someone solve a unique engineering challenge, the objective is always the same: create something that is functional, well-engineered, and built to last.
I also believe knowledge has more value when it's shared. That's why I document projects, explain my process, and continue investing in new equipment and new skills. Every project adds another page to the shop's playbook, making the next challenge just a little more approachable.
